1. About these terms

These terms apply to every quote, booking and service provided by Movewala (Pvt.) Limited ("Movewala", "we", "us"), and to your use of this website. By accepting a quote or booking a service, you agree to these terms.

Your written quote may include extra conditions for your move. If anything in your quote differs from these terms, the quote takes priority.

2. Quotes and surveys

Quotes are free and stay valid for 30 days from the date they are issued.

Your quote is based on the quantity of items recorded at the survey (or listed by you if there was no survey). Any items added after the survey are charged extra, at the rates in your quote or as agreed with you before the move.

The quote also assumes the addresses, access and moving date you gave us. If these change, for example no lift, restricted parking or a new date, we will tell you and may revise the price before the move.

• Unless your quote says otherwise, it does not include customs duties, taxes, port or terminal storage charges, destination inspections, or charges imposed by authorities.
• Services not listed in the quote, such as extra packing, handyman work or storage, are charged separately.

3. Booking and payment

Your move is confirmed when you accept the quote and pay an advance of 50% of the quoted price.

The balance is due before loading for moves within Pakistan. For international moves, the full amount is due before the shipment departs, unless your quote sets out a different schedule.

We may hold goods until all amounts due have been paid.

4. Cancellation and postponement

If you cancel or postpone at least 7 days before the moving date, we refund your advance in full, minus any costs already paid to third parties (such as shipping bookings or packing material delivered to you).

If you cancel with less notice, a charge of 25% of the quoted price applies, plus any third-party costs already incurred.

If we have to change a date for reasons within our control, we will offer you a new date or a full refund of any amount paid.

5. Your responsibilities

• Give us accurate information about what is being moved, and tell us about any valuable, fragile or unusual items before the move.
• Provide the documents needed for your move, such as passport copies, visas, permits, and vehicle or pet documents, and make sure they are correct and on time.
• Arrange access and parking at both addresses, and any building or society permissions.
• Disconnect and empty appliances (fridges, washing machines, gas equipment) before we arrive, unless we have agreed to do this.
• Be present, or have someone you authorise present, at collection and delivery.
• Carry cash, jewellery, important documents, medicines and other valuables yourself. We do not accept these unless agreed in writing.

6. Items we do not carry

For safety and legal reasons, we do not move:

• Flammable, explosive or hazardous items, including gas cylinders, fuel, paint, chemicals and batteries not fitted in devices.
• Weapons and ammunition, and any illegal goods.
• Perishable food, and plants where the destination country restricts them.
• Animals, except those moved under our Pet & Animal Transport service.
• Anything that the laws of Pakistan or the destination country prohibit.

If such items are found in your goods, we may refuse to carry them, and you are responsible for any fines, costs or damage they cause.

7. Packing

Items packed by our team are packed to export standard. If you pack cartons yourself, we are not responsible for damage to the contents unless the carton itself was visibly damaged in our care.

8. Timelines, customs and delays

Transit times in our quotes are estimates based on shipping schedules. We will keep you updated, but we cannot guarantee arrival dates for international shipments.

Customs authorities may open, inspect or hold shipments. Duties, taxes and charges from inspections or storage while goods are held are payable by you unless your quote says otherwise.

9. Damage and claims

Please check your goods at delivery and note any visible damage or missing items on the delivery receipt before signing.

Report any damage in writing, with photos, within 3 days of delivery for moves within Pakistan, or within 14 days for international moves. Keep the damaged items and packaging until the claim is settled.

10. Storage

Storage is charged monthly in advance. Goods are listed when they enter storage, and you can collect or request delivery of them by appointment.

Goods are released once all storage and service charges have been paid.

11. Vehicle transport

• We record the condition of the vehicle, with photos, at collection and at delivery.
• Remove personal belongings from the vehicle unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Many countries do not allow them.
• Provide the vehicle with a small amount of fuel, working brakes and a charged battery, plus all keys and documents.
• We are not responsible for mechanical or electrical faults, or damage recorded before collection.

12. Pets & animals

We take great care to keep animals calm, fed and safe during travel. However, travel is stressful for animals, and we cannot be responsible for illness or death that is not caused by our negligence.

Animals must be fit to travel. For their own safety, we may refuse to carry an animal that appears sick or injured.

You are responsible for health certificates, vaccination records, import and export permits, and any CITES permits required for protected species. We will tell you what is needed and help you apply.

13. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, strikes, government action, port closures, war, civil unrest or pandemics. We will tell you as soon as possible and work with you on a new plan.

14. Using this website

Information on this website is general and may change. Your written quote is what applies to your move.

The content, logo and images on this website belong to Movewala (Pvt.) Limited or its licensors and may not be copied without permission.

When you send a quote request, we use your details only to reply to you and arrange your move.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan. If a dispute cannot be settled by discussion, it will be handled by the courts of Karachi.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page on the date you accept your quote applies to your move.
